About Us
History
Moonlight Directions was founded in 2011 by artistic director Travis Burge and music director Annie Nichols. Moonlight Directions, or MD, is a youth ensemble geared towards community outreach in order to showcase the talent within the Lubbock Moonlight Musicals company, and polish community youths in their performance skills. The group draws inspiration from the popular TV show Glee and performs hit Broadway show tunes and an array of pop, rock and roll, jazz, and other popular genres of music. This group of high school and young college students are trained in singing, dancing, and acting.
Mission Statement
Moonlight Directions serves as an outlet for young performers to grow and perfect their performance strengths, specifically for the musical theatre stage. The goal of MD is to create wonderful performers that are prepared to sing, dance, act, audition, and perform at a professional level, no matter their age, with companies like Lubbock Moonlight Musicals.

What We Do
MD is an audition only group of young performers, ranging from the ages of 13-18. During the Fall and Spring Semesters, we prepare various themed concerts such as Glee, Disney, or 1950's music, and perform at venues like the Legacy Event Center, Moonlight Musicals Amphitheatre, and Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe. Bi-Annually, we collaborate with the Silents Wings Museum for the D-Day Event and perform a 1940's USO show. This year we joined Finessence Show Band for the D-Day Concert and it was a great success!
The group meets once a week (Sundays) for a 3 hour rehearsal, where each performer learns from one or more of the 3 main building blocks of Musical Theatre: Singing, Acting, and Dance. They are allowed private coaching sessions within each area and have opportunities to perform all over the region for a wide range of audiences. This spring, 8 MD members were picked as featured ensemble in Moonlight Broadway's production of Disney's The Little Mermaid. Many current and former MD members have also performed in leading roles on the Lubbock Moonlight Musical stage. Tuition costs are $120/month. Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance.
