Moonlight Directions

Moonlight Children's Theatre was established in July 2015 by Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. The cast for all Moonlight Children’s Theatre (MCT) productions are trained and supplied mainly through Moonlight Directions, with additional casting from children and teenagers in Lubbock and other surrounding communities. Our first production was Beauty and the Beast Jr., which met great success with large audiences at each of our six morning performances. Previous productions include Into the Woods Jr. (2016) and Shrek the Musical Jr. (2017). This summer we are proud to present James and the Giant Peach Jr.! Click here for audition information.

 

In 2016, MCT founded a Musical Theatre Summer Intensive. The summer intensive is not only the rehearsal time for our MCT productions, but also an opportunity for the cast to work with professionals from around the nation on perfecting their craft. Past masterclass leaders include Natalie Weiss (The Greatest Showman, American Idol, YouTube: Breaking Down the Riff), Chris Bohannon (Piangi in Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, Original Broadway Cast Sister Act), Nicole Casteel (Certified Life Coach specializing in performers, Professional Opera Singer/Actress), Dr. James Bush (Director), and Francisco Rendon (Professional Opera Singer/Actor), among many others. The cast also receives musical theatre dance training every day (jazz and tap), as well as coachings in music and acting from the music director and director.
